5 Things I'm Loving Right NOW

I said I would start blogging regularly...two weeks later, here I am. Not quite the frequency I hoped for but oh well. And, I haven't done a "Things I'm Loving Right Now" blog in a while. You're probably thinking, "Gosh, what is Lindsay loving right now? I'm dying to know. I'm still thinking about the fro-yo and Real Housewives of NJ...does she have new interests?" Well, my friends. I do. Rest assured, here are 5 more new and wonderful things for you to love too.

1. TV Season Premieres

This is probably the most important one.

It's been a good summer. I've had more freedom in the evenings...not tied down by my unhealthy addictions to television programs which are further complicated by my lack of the life-altering technology of DVR.  I hate to see summer go (Ok, that's a lie. I live for the days when it will not be 90+ degrees outside) but FALL is my favorite season! Cool days, changing leaves, and TV PREMIERES. What am I most excited for? Glee, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang, Gossip Girl, Weeds, Life Unexpected, Modern Family, Cougar Town, 30 Rock...and the list goes on. Pretty much anything on after 8pm on any of the networks. Gossip Girl and Life Unexpected both premiered this week....everything I expect from the CW and more. And, thanks to internet television, I am fully engrossed in this season of Weeds.

Oh fall, why are you so good to me?

2. Nude Colored High Heels

I'm not a trendsetter. I am a total follower. And right now, I'm dying to follow this trend. Nude colored (or beige, but beige sounds boring) high heels. They're everywhere and I love them. They look chic, they go with everything and they make your legs look a million miles long. That's especially helpful for someone like me who is 5'3" (on a good day).

3. Oprah Surprises
Ok, full disclosure, I didn't get to watch the whole show. I hear it was awesome. See #1 about the lack of DVR. I even missed the evening rerun. I'm lame. However, after hearing about the big "Australia Giveaway" I had to find the clip. Not only do I love the normal hysteria associated with an Oprah surprise, but I specifically, in THIS video, love the woman who mouths "IT'S BIGGER THAN NEW YORK?!?!" I don't think they showed her again, probably because she passed out on the floor when she heard Australia. And then John Travolta showed back up on that giant half-plane. I wish I could've seen her face. NYC with Oprah would've been a fantastic. But, dream big. Dream big like a continent. Dream Australia, mate!  Now, my dream, the ultimate show of shocked hysterical audience members...Oprah, please, for the last season, bring back Favorite Things!

4. Purely Decadent Ice Cream with Coconut Milk

One of my new obsessions is Earth Fare. It's no secret that I love farmers' markets, but when I can't make it, then Earth Fare is the next best thing. Much of their produce is not only organic but also local. But, enough about produce. Let's talk ice cream. Non-dairy ice cream, that is. Don't laugh. It's good. (Not as good as frozen yogurt, though. I mean, come on, what is? Let me just make my loyalties clear.) I tried this ice cream made with coconut milk. It is rich and delicious. I also highly recommend the chocolate chip cookie dough.

5. Mockingjay
I'm not "technically" loving this book yet. Because, well, I haven't been able to start reading Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. However, I'm loving how excited I am to read it. I think that counts. Hunger Games was addictive - a bizarre, twisted young adult book that is creative like Harry Potter without being frustrating to read like The Twilight Saga. (Sorry Stephenie Meyer, but while your story kept me reading halfway thru book 3, your writing drove me crazy). Mockingjay is the third installment in the Hunger Games series. The Hunger Games are basically fight-to-the-death Survivor-like tournaments for teenagers. No, really. You'll seriously read the first book and think, "What the hell? This is insane. Who writes a book like this?" But then, you won't be able to put it down. My weekend plans? Mockingjay.

  1. I'm not surprised she would have a comment. She has long been obsessed with my height. Please tell her that, no, the doctor has not yet told me how tall I will get to be. She can stop asking every month for the past 25 years.

The DMV has decided I get to be 5'3"
